Oh Spring..Where art thou?

After weeks of deliberation and uncertainty, here i am with my first post (deep breath).. and what can be more befitting to talk about in the beginning of April than the very beautiful, very fresh... Season of Spring!

“Is the spring coming?" he said. "What is it like?"...
"It is the sun shining on the rain and the rain falling on the sunshine...”
― Frances Hodgson Burnett, The Secret Garden

Now, That i have zeroed in on my inspiration, it's time to talk about the thing i love the most- Fashion. To see the work of so many amazing designers from across the world is a treat in itself and the fact that there are so many trends to choose from can leave even the most seasoned of the fashionistas confused. Fret not!!

After poring over almost every fashion magazine and fashion week reviews and inside scoops i could get my hands on, i have finally narrowed my list down to trends that are chic, trendy, wearable and oh so this season!

Spring'2013-My favorite looks for this season:

1. The most feminine & My personal favorite-LACE

This dress from Valentino is soo dreamy that i can spin fairy tales around it. The light lavender color, the lace bodice, the flowy skirt..it's all so swoon-worthy. The lightly ruched sleeves and neckline and the dainty belt adds character to this outfit (like it wasn't beautiful enough already).

This white outfit from Oscar De La Renta reminds me of Jackie Kennedy. It's so prim and so classy, i could almost see the invisible white hat on this one. The delicate lace cutout detailing along with the nude belt complements the entire look. i cant think of a better way to accessorize this look.

My two favorite colors- pink and blue, come together..and HOW! Oscar De La Renta has outdone himself with this dress. The combination, the cut, the little rhinestone butterflies, the deep boat neck..everything is beautifully brought together to add elegance and old-world charm to this outfit. Love at first sight!

This Loewe dress combines two of the most in-season trends i.e. lace and leather. And the result.. Chic Gothic Couture. It's a sexy, seductive number that is bound to leave a lot of men breathless..but you've gotta have killer confidence to carry off this look. The slicked back wet look hair and the bright red lips are the purrfect complement to this look.

2. For the love of the humble Zebra- Stripes

This outfit comes from one of my personal favorites- Michael Kors. The horizontal stripes on the skirt and the placement with the black panels, giving the illusion of vertical stripes, is absolutely genius. This is a casual outfit which you can wear for your shopping trips, brunch with the girls, an office party..anything!

Striped pants are all the rage nowadays and we now know where that came from. Balmain came up with this uber cool biker-chic ensemble featuring pants with vertical stripes paired with a cropped top with power shoulders and a pretty cool detailing on the sleeves all the way up to the neck.I can easily picturize Serena Vander woodsen (played by Blake Lively in Gossip Girl) wearing this look...and Rocking it!

I absolutely LURRVVVVEEE this super feminine, billowing dress from Oscar De La Renta. And to think that apart from the silhouette, all this dress has are stripes..lots and lots of it. Who could have thought that something as basic as stripes can be made to look soo feminine. I know i'm gushing but i just cant get over the simplicity of this gown..LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!

3. Flowers with a twist- Edgy Florals

This Prabal Gurung dress is for the fun, flirty female. Silverish white with accents of deep red and a floral print, that, inspite of being "floral" does not scream "floral". if you know what i mean.. loved it.

This dress from Erdem is so pretty that i can actually feel the essence of spring, just by looking at it. The front detailing, gives it a sleek silhouette without being overpowering with the liberal smattering of flowers.

This is one of the more quirkier pieces of the lot and it's USP lies in it's out of the box print. It has pops of brights, geometric graphics and florals..yet it all blends seamlessly with each other.Hats off to Brood for this beautiful yet quirky creation..it IS Art. Closer home, i'd expect Masaba Gupta to come up with something similar.

This outfit from Dries Van Noten gives off more of a "gothic grunge meets girly" kinda vibe. The floral print in shades of navy, cream and gray adds interest to this otherwise, regular outfit. Though i like the pink lipstick, i personally feel that a bright pair of pumps or a neon clutch bag would have added a little more something to this look.

4. A dash of the Orient- Eastern style dresses

A simple dress from Prada caught my eye with its unusual digital florals and the cute detailing in the front. Demure & classy, this dress is perfect for a lunch date or even to meet "his" parents.

If you like drama and would want more flair in your outfit, this kaftan style top from Etro is the perfect option. Pair it with a simple pair of skinny jeans and minimal accessories and let this top do the talking for you.

This kimono style dress from Etro with its motifs of flowers, butterflies and birds will make you picturize warm sunshine and cool breeze. Apart from being really wearable (it was recently seen on Hollywood actress- Anne Hathaway), this can be worn as a dress or as a long top, with the pants. The pristine white makes it that much more perfect for the balmy summers.

5. A sea of brights- Monochromes

This beautiful jewel-toned pant dress from Akris is minimalist chic, yet powerful. The woman wearing this would surely be labelled as the confident,no-nonsense type who gets what she wants. Also, you can mix and match the separates to get different looks.

I'm lovin this tangerine, almost burnt orange, number from Carolina Herrera. Though i'm a fan of Miss Herrera, this opinion is absolutely uninfluenced by her previous work. Every part of the outfit looks to be well thought off and goes together beautifully. Right from the peekaboo lace, the buttoned collar, the skinny belt & the oh so lovely, flowy ankle-grazing skirt...this dress is pure perfection! If only i had the body or the guts to carry this off..sigh!!

This fuchsia dress is so confusing that it took me quite some zooming in and out to get it figured. Having said that, if you want to stand out from the crowd, this one's for you. From the house of Etro, it's a beautiful number which looks like pants with a sheath overlap spanning across the entire body. The jacket, loosely draped around the shoulder, adds a dash of intrigue to this look.

I hope you had fun going through this post.Do let me know if you have tried any of these looks. If yes, how did it go? If not, what are you waiting for? it wont remain spring forever girls...knock yourselves out!!!!

Till next time,
xoxo!
